RN28 is a multi-service gateway adopting Intel Alder Lake-N platform N100 processor, which features fanless design and metal chassis.

In networking solutions, RN28 is capable of simultaneously handling multiple tasks:

  • Edge computing;
  • Vedio encode and decode;
  • Lightweight local storage;
  • PoE power supply;
  • Network route (vRouter);
  • The Giada RN28 can effectively reduce the number of network devices required in small and medium-sized networking solutions and edge applications. It simplifies network topology design, reduces solution costs, avoids performance redundancy, and enhances operational and management quality.
The RN28 integrates commonly used functions of edge gateways and is suitable for use as an NVR workstation and uCPE.
The RN28 provides four 1 GbE RJ45 interfaces (LAN3~LAN6) and supports PoE IEEE802.3af/at protocols. The output power is ≤ 30W, and it is recommended to use PD devices with a rated power consumption of ≤ 25.5W.
2x 1 GbE RJ45 interfaces (LAN1~LAN2) form a pair of bypass.
1x M.2(2230) expansion slot for a Wi-Fi module, supporting Intel® CNVi.
1x M.2(2280) expansion slot for NVMe SSDs
1x SATAIII slot for expanding 2.5-inch hard drives.
It is recommended to use a storage capacity of 1TB or above when storing warm data.

The RN28 is equipped with an Intel N100 processor, which has four times the computing power of the Intel Celeron N3450 processor in Geekbench 6 multicore score and three times in Geekbench R20 multicore score.

The RN28 can efficiently perform edge computing tasks, undertake lightweight customer premises computing tasks, and reduce the reliance of operations on data centers.

Geekbench 6 (Multi-Core)

Geekbench 6 is a benchmark for modern computers, notebooks and smartphones. What is new is an optimized utilization of newer CPU architectures, e.g. based on the big.LITTLE concept and combining CPU cores of different sizes. The multi-core benchmark valuates the performance of all of the processor's CPU cores. Virtual thread improvements such as AMD SMT or Intel's Hyper-Threading have a positive impact on the benchmark result.

Surveillance NVR Workstation

The RN28 supports PoE IEEE802.3af/at power supply and can be directly connected to PoE devices such as IP cameras, access points, alarm systems, etc.

The RN28 provides one pair of bypass to support ring network.

Giada's patented JAHC technology can reduce non-working time of devices and ensure that devices are not turned on during non-working hours, improving management efficiency.

JAHC Technology

JIEHE Active Hardware Control (JAHC) management system includes both hardware Microcontroller Unit (MCU) and software (JAHC Technology Manager). The reliable system is a patented technology of Giada, which is independent of OS.

JAHC can avoid devices running in non-working hours and help users save power consumption significantly.
