As airport infrastructure grows more complex, ensuring safety across runways, terminal areas, and perimeter zones has become increasingly demanding. Traditional manual inspections often suffer from limited coverage, slow response times, and safety risks during harsh weather conditions. To address these challenges, Giada has developed the Giada IB3-771, an industrial motherboard built on the powerful Rockchip RK3588 processor, designed to bring AI intelligence and reliable local computing to airport inspection robots.
At the core of the IB3-771 is the RK3588’s integrated 6 TOPS NPU, enabling advanced edge AI processing. In runway inspection scenarios, robots equipped with this motherboard can capture high-resolution images through onboard cameras and analyze them locally using AI algorithms. The system can identify potential hazards such as cracks, debris, and surface wear in milliseconds, achieving recognition accuracy of up to 98%, significantly higher than the approximately 85% accuracy typically achieved through manual inspection. With all analysis completed locally, the response speed is dramatically improved, reducing hazard response time from about one hour to just 15 minutes.

The IB3-771 also provides extensive connectivity to support the diverse sensor requirements of inspection robots. Dual Gigabit Ethernet ports enable simultaneous connection to LiDAR and millimeter-wave radar for precise obstacle detection and navigation. A MIPI-CSI interface supports high-resolution 4K cameras for detailed visual monitoring, while USB 3.2 Gen1 and SATA 3.0 interfaces allow additional storage modules to store continuous 24/7 inspection video data. In real-world airport deployments, robots powered by the IB3-771 can perform multiple tasks simultaneously, including runway inspection, perimeter intrusion detection, and fire safety equipment checks. In some cases, a single robot can replace the workload of up to three human inspectors.

Built for reliability, the IB3-771 features an active cooling design and supports an operating temperature range of 0°C to 60°C, ensuring stable performance even in extreme airport environments such as hot summer runways or cold winter conditions. Its low power consumption also helps extend robot operating time, while industrial-grade components and anti-vibration design enhance long-term stability.

By combining powerful edge AI computing with flexible connectivity and industrial reliability, the IB3-771 provides a robust motherboard platform for next-generation airport inspection robots, helping airports build safer, smarter, and more efficient security systems. ✈️🤖
