Giada AF208: The Core Engine Behind Efficient and Precise Welding Robots
Giada AF208 embedded computer for industrial welding robots

As industrial automation continues to evolve, welding robots are playing a crucial role in modern manufacturing. These systems typically combine robotic arms, welding equipment, positioning systems, and embedded industrial computers to perform high-precision welding tasks. However, in complex production lines, traditional welding robots often face challenges such as slow data transmission, fragmented sensor integration, and unstable operation in high-temperature and dusty environments. To address these issues, Giada introduces the Giada AF208, an embedded computer designed to power the next generation of intelligent welding systems.

Intel Alder Lake-N Inside

The AF208 is equipped with Intel N97 or Intel Atom x7211E processors and supports Windows 10 and Windows 11 operating systems. This computing platform provides the performance required to process welding parameters and motion trajectory commands in real time. At the same time, it ensures stable data transmission from industrial cameras, enabling accurate monitoring even in demanding working conditions. Tasks such as groove detection, seam tracking, and molten pool analysis require high-resolution image processing, and the AF208 can process visual data instantly to correct robotic trajectories with sub-millimeter precision.

In complex environments such as automotive body welding lines, the AF208 enables welding systems to collect and transmit seam data within just 50 milliseconds. This rapid processing capability allows robots to respond instantly, improving both communication efficiency and overall production performance.

Giada AF208 rich connectivity for sensors and equipment

Rich Connectivity

Modern intelligent welding relies on the integration of multiple data sources, including visual feedback, force sensing, and process parameters. The AF208 offers extensive connectivity to support this integration. Dual Gigabit Ethernet ports allow simultaneous connection to 3D laser vision sensors and torque sensors, enabling a combined "vision guidance + force control" system for accurate positioning. Additional USB, COM, and HDMI interfaces support industrial displays, cameras, PLCs, welding machines, and other equipment for centralized control and coordination.

Wide-range Temperature & Voltage

Designed for harsh industrial environments, the compact 160 × 130 × 60 mm fanless system operates reliably from –20°C to 70°C while resisting dust, oil mist, and electromagnetic interference. With its powerful processing, flexible connectivity, and industrial-grade reliability, the AF208 provides a solid foundation for smarter, faster, and more flexible robotic welding solutions. 🤖
